Project culture, permanent training, progressive acquisition of new skills; spirit of collaboration, planning of activities and sense of personal responsibility are the objectives and the operating method of the studio, aimed at guiding the work and everyone’s growth.
Each person sharing a design vision developing a specific specialization and permanently taking care of the recurrent training.
The working group, with an adequate operational structure, is permanently coordinated with external professionals, specialized in various specific sectors, developing the projects in an integrated form.
Paolo Focaccia, 1960 architect
Graduated with honours in Florence. From 1986 to 2001, he collaborated in teaching along-side Carlo Chiappi at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence.
He focuses on design issues in problematic areas of Florence and Ravenna, developing aspects of completion, building replacement and expansion. He puts extra attention to the search for continuity with the morphological and typological layout of the places. Since 1987 he practises as an architect.
Luca Galassi, 1990 architect
Graduated with honours from the Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara. With his degree thesis, he won first place in the degree thesis competition “Ideas for the Province of Ravenna” and was among the finalists at “Archiprix” Italy 2015. In 2015, he collaborated in teaching in the design courses of Gabriele Lelli’s design at the same Department in which he graduated. He carries out his first work experience in a private studio in Faenza as well as some small works with his colleague Lorenzo Monaldini.
Erica Malaguti, 1992 architect (to be)
Masters in Architecture with distinction (March) at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. Shortlisted for the 3DReid student Price 2017 for her thesis project. Once graduated she works for a year in an Edinburgh office, before moving for a few years to a studio in Borneo Malaysia.
Roberto Nigro, 1992 engineer
Graduated from the Faculty of Building Engineering and Architecture of Catania. During his studies, he participates in some workshops and obtains the publication of the project carried out during the course of architectural restoration. He carries out a first collaboration with an architecture studio in Acireale (CT).
Cristina Bicego, 1997 architect
Graduated with honours at the IUAV, University of Venice. During her academic career, she spent periods abroad, to study, firstly at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow (Scotland) and later at the Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal).
The engineer Francesco Pezzolla set up the studio together with Paolo Focaccia.
The architect Enzo De Leo has collaborated with the studio from the beginning.
